Did Oda foreshadow us a future power-up for Franky? Here’s the bit of the SBS about Oda’s favorite SMILE users, more importantly the inspiration behind Holdem’s design:
Then we have Franky’s new bounty poster that only shows the Sunny. Not the first time the World Government fucks up but weird choice though.

So here’s my theory: the Franky Shogun will get an upgrade and will incorporate the Sunny or the Sunny will transform itself to become the robot. The new robot will have the Sunny’s firgurehead on its chest.
To further corroborate the theory, fans are pointing towards something that Oda did for the SBS of Volume 101, where a fan asked him to draw Franky in his 50s and 70s, as he has for most other Straw Hat members. While in a “normal” future Franky becomes a lovely mechanic, in a dystopian “future where things went wrong” he will turn into a killer robot first, and then into an actual battleship.
This arc will undoubtedly be important for Franky given his connection with Vegapunk. It’s not hard to believe Franky will be getting a redesign by the end of this arc.
