Aokiji already used Awakening during the Marineford War

After the two year timeskip, Luffy and the other Straw Hats go to the island of Punk Hazard where they find the same subdivided into two parts: The Burning Lands and The Ice lands both permanently affected by the fruits of Akainu and Aokiji respectively.

The concept of Awakening was also briefly mentioned by Crocodile in Impel Down.

It is only later in Dressrossa and Whole Cake Island (both spectacular arcs) that we are introduced to the concept of Awakening in more detail.

We have seen that one of the characteristics of the Awakening of a Paramecia devil fruit is to affect TEMPORARILY the inorganic materials that surround the user without coming into direct contact with said material.

Since devil fruits of the Logia class have hitherto been characterized to a degree as superior, I would like to introduce the option that their Awakening consists in affecting PERMANENTLY the inorganic materials that surround the user without coming into direct contact with said material.

Navy Admirals have a power so far compared only to the Yonkos and other rather strong characters such as some Yonko Commanders and some Shichibukais, so it is to be expected that they also possess the ability to awaken. I would like to present my point of view that Aokiji has already shown his Awakening in the war of the Best as well as in Punk Hazard.

It should be noted that the previous ability differs from Ice Age since it must be in some way in contact with the inorganic material.
