It just dawned on me that the fight between Luffy and Katakuri has some big power level consequences. I know Straw Hats are about to head to Wano and face of the “Strongest Creature in the World” and his army, but taking a moment to think about Luffy learning advanced Observation Haki changes power dynamics perceptions of whole series.
Luffy may not have awakened yet, but having future sight is serious power-up on its own. Assuming, based on information provided, very few have ability to glimpse (having haki itself is a Vice Admiral requirement) into the future. To emphasize more, New World veteran Shichibukais like Doflamingo, Crocodile (special case due to early introduction), Jinbe, etc. did not have this future insight.
Consequently, after this arc Luffy will be someone who cannot be underestimated by anyone (except a few people who can’t be killed even by themselves). I find this change in the power dynamic perception will be a big thing, not just in the One Piece world, but also our awareness of end which draws near.
