The Reason why Oda waited so much to officially introduce Jinbe as Nakama

I was wondering if Jinbe’s late addition to Straw Hat Pirates crew is not just strategic reason in terms of plot but also symbolic.

Luffy should always be the strongest Straw Hat being the leader. And as we know, Luffy has just learned how to use Advanced level of Armament Haki.

If Luffy hadn’t learn Advanced Armament yet and Jinbe joined before that, technically Jinbe would have been the strongest person in Straw Hats crew.

I think right now Luffy is the strongest, but he has surpassed Jinbe’s level only a few chapters ago. In my opinion Oda always wants Luffy to be the strongest Nakama.

So, unless you still think right now Luffy is weaker than Jinbe, or that Jinbe was never stronger than him to begin with, all this makes perfect sense.

It should be noted that also Sanji and Zoro just got a power up, which can be said brought balance to add Jinbe to the Straw Hat Pirates crew.

The Raid Suit grants Sanji the ability to fly and strengthen his kicks with propelled boots, and serves as an armor to protect him from attacks.
Its unique ability is that it allows Sanji to blend in perfectly with his environment, leaving him invisible to the human eye. This invisibility gives him a great advantage in battle, being able to land surprise attacks on opponents without them seeing him coming.

Enma is one of the 21 O Wazamono grade swords. It was once wielded by Kozuki Oden alongside his other sword, Ame no Habakiri, and is one of the two only weapons known to have ever injured Kaido.
After he received Enma in Wano, Zoro’s mastery in Busoshoku Haki is further shown when he forces his Haki back into his arm that was forcefully drained by Enma whereas a normal swordsman would have been drained of all their Haki. Zoro was able to fully control Enma’s dangerous Haki draining properties after a short period of training, becoming the second person after Oden to master Enma.
